I saw this in the lid of my kimchi… Does anyone know what it is and is it still safe to eat or just throw it away?

That looks like fly eggs or some kind of insect eggs

Rice is often used in place of glutinous rice flour in Kimchi.

Isn’t that rice? Looks like rice clumped together.

You’re clumsy, it’s just rice from yesterday’s dinner that got swiped on the lid.

Yeah I would not eat that… Throw it away.

Throw it away! It looks like sweet rice, but nobody’s got time to deal with parasites or food poisoning, right!?! Better safe than sorry.

Is it possible someone in the household is doing this?

Put it in a mason jar, lid closed tightly, and see if it’s fly eggs.

That’s far too big to be fly eggs right

Insect eggs—something got into the kimchi container and laid eggs
